Art Story - Eye Of Mother Nature

When we think of art, our minds immediately wander to the works of Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Andy Warhol and even our own local boy Robert Bateman; but what is art? Is art defined merely by the stoke of a brush? The squish of clay between our fingers? Abstract photography? Art is all of these things and much more. There are many forms of art all around us, which we take for granted on a daily basis and barely notice.

The art of Mother Nature is everywhere and is awe-inspiring. Her paintbrush strokes our easel and canvass everyday with luscious colors and shapes and textures; there’s no replicating it! Even the smile on a child’s face or the wag in a dog’s tail is full of beauty. The changing of the seasons is almost a coming of age, and the sites are breathtaking.

As you notice the rain bounce off an umbrella, or the chocolate swirl in your mocha, or even the reflections of the city lights on a dark and dampened street, think to yourself that this IS art! Art imitates life and life imitates art, stop and reflect on it, take notice of the mundane things that zip past you during your busy day, and enjoy their beauty.
